Life Doesn’t Care
Life does not care about you.
Life does not care what you choose.
Life’s only mission is to give you what you choose, if you are willing to work toward that goal and overcome all the hardships life throws at you along the way.
It doesn’t matter what you choose.
You can literally choose anything.
This is most clearly exemplified in the Jake Paul, Mike Tyson fight.
If we focus not on the results, or even on the fight itself, but look only at the fact that it occurred, it becomes clear that life doesn’t give a whit about who you are or what you want, it “cares” only that you choose and then work toward that goal proving you are worthy of your goal by overcoming the hardships life will always throw at you along the way.
Jake Paul started from nowhere, became an internet sensation, chose goal after impossible goal, then took action to achieve each one, ignoring everyone who threw him shade.
Then he chose to be become a professional boxer, one of the most demanding of sports and then chose to fight Mike Tyson, one of the greatest boxers of all time.
Rationally, any number of Jake Paul’s choices along his path would have been “insane” to imagine, much less actually attempt. But Jake Paul has made his career by defying the odds and shooting for the stars.
So he fought Mike Tyson, albeit if we use the term “fought” liberally.
But the Jake Paul Mike Tyson fight is a clear example — and one of the clearest - of our premise: Life doesn’t care about you. Life doesn’t care what you want. Life doesn’t care what you choose. Life — or the universe or “fate” or whatever term you choose — doesn’t care about you at all, it “cares” only that you make a choice and that you then do whatever it takes to get there.
Life doesn’t even care whether your choice is ethical, moral or legal or whether the path you take and the actions you undertake are ethical, moral or legal. Life only cares that you 1. Choose. 2. Act. 3. Do whatever it takes to reach your goal.
That’s it.
And that’s all.
Don’t listen to those who say it can’t be done or that’s out of your reach, or that you have to have common sense or that you can’t do it.
If Jake Paul or Mike Tyson had let that kind of advice guide them, neither of them would have been in that ring on Friday night, November 15, 2024.
And yes, don’t anyone mislead you.
Both Jake and Mike said they heard that a lot as they were advancing along their careers.
“It can’t be done,” “You can’t do that.” “No one has done that before.”
Imagine if Elon Musk had followed such advice?
Or Bill Gates?
Or Donald Trump?
The bigger and bolder the goal you seek, the greater and more intense will be the criticism and negativity that will seek to hold you back from that goal.
Choose any goal. Life doesn’t care what you choose.
Life only cares that you make a choice and then do whatever it takes to get there.
